SEAS Pastoral Council Youth Ministry Report – June 2024
Our summer schedule is in full swing. We had over 30 SEAS youth, including some new faces, attend our June event for middle and high school. St. Agnes’ youth minister and youth joined us. It was a great time of fellowship and fun. Our next event we will be bowling at Enterprise Park Lanes on July 17. In August, we will be swimming at the Nixa Aquatic Center.
The St. Agnes youth minister and I are planning a couple joint events for the school year. We plan to invite all of the Springfield area Catholic youth groups to join us. We’d really love for all the kids to be able to get together.
KRUNCH continues to meet monthly during the summer. Our topic for the summer is Saints. We’ll be learning about specific Saints, the process to become a capital S Saint (canonization) and what we can do to follow the call of Pope Benedict and Pope Francis to become saints ourselves.
We will be taking the largest group in recent years to Steubenville at MSU July 5-7. We will also be taking a group to Camp Covecrest in Georgia July 28-August 3. These events are exciting opportunities for our youth to grow in their individual faith and as a young Catholic faith community.
We have begun brainstorming for a fundraiser to replace our Garage Sale. If you have any suggestions, please send them to me at youth@seaschurch.org. We are also working on modifications for the Lasagna Dinner in February, anticipating that the Parish Hall will not be available, but the Pavilion will.
If you or any other parishioners have questions about Youth Ministry, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
As always, thank you for all you do for our youth!

Respectfully submitted,
Ellen Chindlund
