Welcome to the vibrant community of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Youth Ministry (SEAS CYM)! Our mission is to foster Catholic fellowship, provide faith formation, and offer support for our young disciples. Join us in building a community where faith, fun, and Christian living intertwine.

  1. Catholic Fellowship:

    • Create an environment of camaraderie among Catholic youth.
    • Establish a close-knit community for mutual support and encouragement.
  2. Faith Formation:

    • Engage in Scripture studies to deepen understanding.
    • Explore Apologetics to strengthen faith and address questions.
    • Foster spiritual growth through various faith-building activities.
  3. Support for Young Believers:

    • Provide a supportive space for young believers to navigate life.
    • Encourage the integration of Christian values into daily living.

ROC & CREED–ROC (grades 6th-8th) and CREED (grades 9th-12th) youth groups meet weekly on Wednesdays. ROC meets from 5:00-6:30 PM and CREED meets from 7:00-8:30 PM in the Youth Room & O’Reilly Gym.

SEAS Pastoral Council Youth Ministry Report – February 2024
Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2024 Lasagna Dinner a great success!
Our sponsors: Edward Jones – Mary Blair, Kids Directory, Richard Russell Law and The Therapist Support Network
Our donors: Breadsmith, Hy-Vee, Julie’s Chewies, Papa Murphy’s Take n Bake Pizza, SGC Foodservice, Sam’s Club, St. Michael’s, The Urban Cup, Walmart Neighborhood Market, Walmart Super Center, The Wash House and countless anonymous donors who supplied wine, baked goods and helped in many ways.
Those who attended: Thank you for coming out and supporting our event and bringing a great spirit of community that made the evening so special.
Our youth and adult volunteers: Thank you for working tirelessly on every facet of the event.
Our parish: Thank you for your prayers and always going above and beyond in your support of the efforts of SEAS Youth Ministry. We couldn’t do it without you!

We’re headed to the Diocesan Youth Conference in Carthage on February 23 & 24. This year it will be a retreat led by a team from Benedictine College. This event is open to youth in grades 7-12.

We have a group of 32 youth and adults attending the Steubenville Conference at MSU on July 5-7. I’m happy with the large group, in spite of the holiday weekend.

SEAS Youth Ministry will be hosting the Lenten Fish Fry on Friday, March 8. Mark your calendars for a great meal!

We’ve begun planning for the annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held on Saturday, March 30 from 11-12:30pm. Youth will lead the younger kids in games, crafts and activities before the hunt.

With the approval of Fr. Kiefer, we have chosen to discontinue our LifeTeen subscription this year. The conference I attended in September gifted participants a membership to YDisciple, a program for both middle and high schoolers with scripture studies based on the Sunday readings. We will be transitioning to this program in March. We have flash drives of the LifeTeen programming, so we may use some of that material in the future.

Please keep an eye out for Graduating Senior recognition plans to be announced soon.

Thank you for all you do for our youth!

Respectfully submitted,
Ellen Chindlund Youth Minister St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish
