O gracious God, who generously lavishes our lives with goodness, create in our hearts a deep center of gratitude. May sharing freely of our treasures become the norm of our existence. Remind us often of your cherishing love and the unearned gifts in our lives. Amen.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church expresses gratitude for your ongoing support through time, talent, and treasures. Stewardship is a way of life, deepening our relationship with the Lord and bringing peace and joy. Your generosity significantly impacts our parish community.
Understanding Planned Giving:
Planned giving involves sharing accumulated gifts to benefit oneself, family, and charity. It allows you to chart your own stewardship legacy, offering potential tax advantages, enhanced estate plans, or income benefits. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church is committed to assisting in this process to ensure your gifts reach your designated beneficiaries.
Gifts You Can Give Now:
1. Cash:
- Charitable deduction if your tax situation allows.
2. Long-Term Appreciated Stocks/Securities:
- Avoid capital gains.
- Charitable deduction if your tax situation allows.
3. IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD):
- Exclude QCD from taxable income.
- Apply QCD to Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from age 70½.
4. Donor Advised Fund (DAF):
- Grow a fund for giving, possibly avoiding capital gains tax.
- Charitable deduction if your tax situation allows.
Gifts in the Future:
Wills, Bequests & Life Insurance:
- Retain control during your lifetime.
- Reduce income taxes and potential estate tax for heirs.
- Pass more favorably taxed property to heirs.
YEAR-END GIVING AND TAX BENEFITS:
As the year concludes, consider charitable contributions for income tax benefits. Your year-end gift could reduce income taxes and support your parish. Make your gift before December 31st for tax recognition in the current year.
