Baptismal Preparation for first-time parents:
» You will need to attend a Baptism Preparation Class and fill out a Baptism Registration Form. We offer a Baptism Preparation Class on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM in the Parish Office Conference Room. The class will last about 45 minutes. Please register for the class by the Friday before the class by calling Greg Bolda at 417-343-0502 or email at [email protected]. We ask that you please do not bring your baby with you to the class.
» After you have completed the Baptism Class and filled out the Baptism Registration Form you can call the parish office Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM—4:30 PM to schedule your baby’s baptism.
Baptismal Preparation for parents who have previously taken the class:
» Contact the parish office at 417-887-6472 to schedule your baby’s baptism.
The role of the Godparents is to be model Catholics in the life of your child. The Godparents will assist in the religious formation of your child as a good Catholic.
Here are a few tips to help guide you when it comes to choosing your child's Godparents.
According to Canon Law:
» One Godparent is required to be a confirmed practicing Catholic.
» Minimum 16 years of age.
» A fully initiated Catholic (having received Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion.)
» A practicing Catholic (regularly attends Mass, regularly goes to Reconciliation, and believes the truths of the Catholic faith.)
» The Godparents cannot be the child's own parents.
